PROMOTION FOR MORTELL AS TRANSLINE RESOURCE LOOKS TO PROMOTE FROM WITHIN

Transline Resource, the leading driving and industrial recruitment firm, has today announced the promotion of Daniel Mortell from Regional Manager to National Contracts Manager responsible for driving contracts. His promotion is reflective of the company’s commitment to build and maintain a strong and dynamic management team across its 35-office UK-wide network.

Daniel will now be responsible for new site implementations throughout the UK as well as new driving contracts. He has already overseen the recruitment and training of drivers for the company’s sole supplier contract with Wincanton Argos at Heywood and is in the process of doing the same at Wincanton Argos Bridgwater.

His appointment goes somewhat against the tide of Transline Resource Senior Management recruitment, which in recent months has seen a number of high profile appointments arrive at the company from industry rivals. Daniel’s promotion is evidence that the strategy is now beginning to change towards long term talent retention.

“Having experienced double figure percentage growth for the past three years we’ve had to restructure to cope and that’s meant bringing in the industry’s best from outside,” said Transline Resource Managing Director Paul Beasley. “But our long term strategy has always been to train people internally and reward them for their commitment.”

“Daniel is a classic case in point. Throughout his time with us he has shown a remarkable willingness to learn as well as excellent customer service. He’s performed on every stage and we want to ensure that people like him have a future with us as they are vital cogs in the wheel.”

Still only 29, Daniel began his recruitment career when he was appointed Office Administrator for Hays Plc in 2001. He quickly exhibited talent, drive and ambition and was rewarded with a place on its driving recruitment training scheme. Over 4 years he rose to Senior Driving Recruitment Consultant before leaving for a similar position at Best Connection where he spent 2 years.

In 2007 he was approached by Transline Resource Group to become a Senior Recruitment Consultant out of its office, then at the Argos Trafford Centre depot. He quickly became a vital member of the team and when Transline Resource decided to set up its operational HQ at Trafford Park, Daniel was appointed Branch Manager – the first of four promotions in four years.

He’s since spent time as Regional Branch Manager and Regional Manager and in his new role, he will oversee two Wincanton GlaxoSmithKline contracts at Gloucester and Middlewich in addition to the two Wincanton Argos contracts at Bridgwater and Heywood currently being set up. He is responsible for an eight-strong team and is delighted they’re again being recognised for their hard work.

“This promotion not only recognises my achievements but also the achievements of my team and I’m very very pleased with it. I’m happy to be part a pioneering firm that understands the needs of its clients and candidates and look forward to playing a crucial role in the future.”

Fellow Managing Director Jon Taylor added: “As we head towards another record financial year we need to think about how we continue to innovate in the market. Daniel has a very good understanding of the industry and is able to build the strong relationships that enable us to capitalise on opportunities. He has invested a lot into us and we’re very pleased to be continuing our investment in him.”
